Lei Lani Poruji Essence Review

What is it?

It is an essence from the Poruji skin care collection of the Korean brand Lei Lani. It is made especially for acne prone, problematic and sensitive skin types. This is what the manufacturer says about it:

For problematic skin. Restoring balance. Calming & soothing. Designed with tea tree leaf oil and Aloe Vera extract, the Poruji Essence hydrates the skin while conditioning to restore the optimal balance with microbeads that absorb deep into the skin to control sebum and oils. Soothe your angry, acne-prone, blemish-prone skin with the Poruji Essence and fall in love with your flawless skin! /Lei Lani/

This sounds good, so I had to try it. I got it in Wishtrend’s Wish Try Love Box which I “had to” buy when By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid came out. So I got this essence that I didn’t pay much attention to. Boy, was I wrong!

Problem with this essence is it is now out of stock everywhere. It is available only in Wishtrend’s Wish Try Love Box. I hope this would change soon.

Thick gel has lovely scent to it (similar texture, only lighter; and the same scent as the Cosrx Oil Free Ultra Moisturizing Lotion with Birch Sap) and is packed in sleek plastic 50 ml / 1.69 fl.oz. bottle with airless pump. Very travel friendly and easy to use.

How to use it?

After prepping the skin with the Poruji Toner, apply an adequate amount of the Poruji Essence evenly. /Lei Lani/

Ok, I use it after any toner and any serum. It is rather thick so when the weather is hot, I use it as the last step of the skin care routine. Play with it; see what way you find it works best for you.

Water, Butylene Glycol, Beta-Glucan, Glycerin, Alcohol, Dimethicone, Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, 1,2-Hexanediol, Butylene Glycol, Polyacrylate-13, Polyisobutene, Polysorbate 20, Glyceryl Stearate, Houttuynia Cordata Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Glycyrrhiza Inflata Root Extract, Punica Granatum Fruit Extract, Squalane, Carbomer, Arginine, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Allantoin, Propanediol, Paeonia Albiflora Root Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Cnidium Officinale Root Extract, Poncirus Trifoliata Fruit Extract, Pueraria Lobata Root Extract, Angelica Dahurica Root Extract

Very neat. Very engaged list, but there are some red flags for sensitive skin types like alcohol, Lavender oil, tea tree oil, witch hazel extract. But somehow, this formulation made these very acceptable, even healing to my skin.

Every other ingredient in this list is a true skincare gem.

Rosacea safe?

Basically yes, but do the patch test first. There are some red flags here (alcohol, Lavender oil, tea tree oil, witch hazel extract) that could aggravate rosacea.

Who is it for?

Sensitive skin, problematic skin, acne prone skin, sebum type: all types

Does it work?

I’ve used it on and off for nine months now. Whenever my skin feels the need for that extra soothing step, here comes this essence. I’ve already told you, it is hard to get it right now, so I tend to use it sparingly. I know, I know, I will use it up soon enough.

When something goes wrong in my body, and my rosacea wakes up at its worst temper, I use this essence. You name it: PMS, heat, cold, other triggers of any kind (you can read more about it here).

I am obviously sucker for that scent it has. Cosrx got me three times to it (you can read about it here and here). No, of course, I am kidding, but rest assured all of these really work for me.

Lei Lani made this essence exactly for my skin it seems. When it’s angry, red, bumpy. This essence is like a little fire extinguisher to that bloody (pardon my French) face on fire. niles-crane-fire-extinguisher-fail-o

Yes, I would like to repurchase it, if anyone in charge finds it it’s as good a time as any to put it back in market.

Thumbs up?
